SoCal Parrot, a non-profit that cares for the beautiful birds, has taken in more than two dozen critically endangered parrots recently rescued after a smuggler was discovered trying to sneak his eggs onto a plane in Miami.

In addition to this, Foster Parrots, Best Friends, Oasis and MAARS have been embroiled in the rescue of the parrots and cavies from the Mayaguez Zoo in Puerto Rico, which was finally officially shut down early this year after being closed down to the public since 2017

One Earth Conservation is now accepting applications for the 2024 Parrot Conservation Corps, a year-long webinar series led by Rev. Dr. LoraKim Joyner and Dr. Sylvia M. de la Parra Martínez. They invite those who care about parrots onto a path of healing and activism -- bilingual in Spanish and English!!! This is a chance to learn about and perform conservation personally -- with heart and strength. Participants can help to save the world from wherever they are, by supporting community conservation where people who live with the parrots are.
